Academic Integrity Policy

All learners are expected to demonstrate:

• Honesty in academic work;
• Respect for intellectual property;
• Originality in submitted work;
• Professional conduct;
• Responsible use of acquired knowledge;
• Respect for instructors, learners, and staff;
• Compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  
  

Academic integrity applies to all educational activities regardless of delivery format, including self-paced courses, live sessions, workshops, webinars, assignments, examinations, projects, discussions, and certification assessments.

Unless otherwise authorized, all submitted assignments, projects, assessments, reports, analyses, written responses, and certification materials must represent the learner's own work.

Learners may not:

• Submit another person's work as their own;
• Purchase completed assignments;
• Reuse work previously submitted by another individual;
• Misrepresent authorship;
• Falsify sources, evidence, findings, or references;
• Submit work created primarily by third parties.
  
  

Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action.

The use of artificial intelligence systems, automated content generation tools, large language models, writing assistants, or similar technologies is prohibited during:

• Examinations;
• Certification assessments;
• Competency evaluations;
• Professional Certificate evaluations;
• Restricted assignments;
• Any activity specifically designated by ITAC as requiring independent learner performance.
  
  

The use of AI-generated content may be treated as academic misconduct where it undermines the purpose of the assessment.

Open-book examinations permit the use of authorized course materials, notes, and reference resources but do not permit the use of artificial intelligence systems.

ITAC reserves the right to investigate suspected AI-assisted submissions.

Learners shall complete examinations honestly and independently.

The following conduct is prohibited:

• Receiving unauthorized assistance;
• Providing unauthorized assistance;
• Sharing examination questions;
• Sharing examination answers;
• Distributing examination materials;
• Circumventing examination controls;
• Impersonating another learner;
• Allowing another person to complete an examination;
• Using unauthorized software or technologies.
  
  

College certification examinations require a minimum passing score of eighty percent (80%) unless otherwise specified.

Learners who fail an examination may retake the examination in accordance with applicable certification requirements.

Where required, additional fees may apply to examination retakes.

Certain programs may require practical assignments, projects, analytical exercises, case studies, written reports, or instructor-reviewed evaluations.

Assignments are evaluated on a Pass or Fail basis.

Instructors may provide written observations, feedback, recommendations, and performance assessments.

Learners who do not successfully complete an assignment may be granted up to two (2) opportunities to revise and resubmit their work.

Assignment requirements may vary between programs.

Certification pathways rely upon the integrity of learner performance.

Any attempt to improperly obtain, manipulate, falsify, or misrepresent certification status constitutes a serious violation of this Policy.

Prohibited conduct includes:

• Fraudulent certification attempts;
• Submission of false information;
• Misrepresentation of qualifications;
• Unauthorized use of another person's credentials;
• Sharing accounts to obtain certification;
• Alteration of issued certificates;
• Unauthorized creation or distribution of certification records.
  
  

Violations may result in certification denial or revocation.

ITAC provides education in intelligence, analysis, security, risk assessment, investigative methodologies, and related professional disciplines.

Learners are expected to apply acquired knowledge responsibly and ethically.

ITAC prohibits the use of acquired knowledge, training materials, methodologies, or educational resources to support:

• Criminal activity;
• Fraud;
• Identity theft;
• Phishing;
• Unauthorized surveillance;
• Cybercrime;
• Espionage;
• Manipulation campaigns;
• Disinformation operations;
• Harassment;
• Stalking;
• Doxxing;
• Malicious software development;
• Unauthorized access to systems or data;
• Any unlawful activity.
  
  

Evidence of such conduct may result in disciplinary action, certification revocation, account termination, or referral to appropriate authorities where required by law.

Users participating in forums, discussions, comments, events, or collaborative activities shall maintain professional standards of conduct.

The following behavior is prohibited:

• Harassment;
• Personal attacks;
• Threats;
• Hate speech;
• Discriminatory conduct;
• Intimidation;
• Disruptive behavior;
• Deliberate misinformation;
• Publication of confidential information.
  
  

ITAC reserves the right to moderate, remove, restrict, or investigate community content.

ITAC may investigate suspected violations of this Policy.

Investigations may include review of:

• Submitted assignments;
• Examination records;
• Platform activity;
• Community participation;
• User communications;
• Certification records;
• Relevant supporting evidence.

Learners may be asked to provide additional information during an investigation.

Failure to cooperate may be considered during the review process.

Violations of this Policy may result in one or more of the following actions:

• Warning;
• Assignment failure;
• Examination invalidation;
• Certification denial;
• Certification suspension;
• Certification revocation;
• Temporary account suspension;
• Permanent account termination;
• Removal from educational programs;
• Restriction from future enrollment.
  
  

ITAC reserves the right to determine the appropriate sanction based on the severity of the violation.

Learners may appeal designated academic decisions.

Appeals must be submitted in writing within the timeframe established by ITAC.

Where appropriate, ITAC may establish a three-member review committee consisting of:

• One representative appointed by ITAC;
• One subject matter expert appointed by ITAC;
• One qualified reviewer proposed by the learner and approved by ITAC.

The committee shall review the available evidence and issue a final determination.

The committee's decision shall be final.

ITAC reserves the right to modify this Policy at any time.

Updated versions become effective upon publication unless otherwise stated.
